All Katana MkII models include five simultaneous effects categories: Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb. Each category comes with three variations, offering a total of 15 ready-to-use effects. By connecting to BOSS Tone Studio, you can customize these effects further with over 60 different effect types, adjust the effect chain with four different chains, and explore many more options.

The Katana-50 MkII EX can function as both a standalone amp and a powered cabinet for external gear. By connecting to the Power Amp In jack, you bypass the onboard preamp and effects, accessing the Tube Logic power section with Power Control. With BOSS Tone Studio, you can optimize the input for your specific gear using a high-pass filter and adjustable gain.

 

 

 

 

One-Touch Recall Of Custom Setups

One of the most powerful features of the Katana MkII is the ability to store favorite amp characters and effects setups in Tone Setting memories for instant recall. Simply dial in your sound, then save it to a memory slot with a button hold. You can access four Tone Settings directly from the panel or with optional FS-series footswitches. With the GA-FC and GA-FC EX foot controllers, you get expanded control, including access to eight Tone Setting memories, individual effects on/off, and more.

 

 

 

Stereo Made Easy

The Stereo Expand feature allows you to link two Katana MkII amps easily using just one regular cable. Stereo Expand distributes stereo effects like chorus, delay, and reverb across both amps, creating a wide, immersive sound field. Stereo Expand is supported on all Katana MkII models except the Katana-50 MkII.

 

 

 

 

Ready-To-Mix Direct Tones

 

The Katana-50 MkII EX features line, USB, and phones/recording outputs with mic’d cabinet emulation, letting you send mix-ready amp tones to a PA system, computer DAW, or headphones. The direct sound can be shaped with three different Air Feel settings, which are accessible from BOSS Tone Studio. Two-channel USB operation is supported, allowing you to track in true stereo with many of Katana’s modulation, EQ, delay, and reverb effects.

 

 

Compact Gig Commander

The optional GA-FC and GA-FC EX foot controllers are the perfect partners for the Katana-50 MkII EX. They connect with a single cable, require no external power, and take up minimal space. You can directly recall Tone Settings with six footswitches and independently turn the five effects sections on/off. They also support external footswitches and expression pedals, with customization via BOSS Tone Studio. The GA-FC offers standard control, while the expanded GA-FC EX provides the ability to control two amps together, connect another unit for additional foot control, and more.
