Import Your Custom Sounds

With the expandable XPS-10, you’re not limited to just the internal sounds—via USB flash memory, you can integrate your custom sounds as well. Using the Sample Import function, you can easily map a WAV audio file stored on USB memory to the keyboard, with all the appropriate pitches assigned automatically. You can import multiple audio files and store them in the XPS-10 (up to a total of 32 MB), where you can then use them in Patch or Performance modes just like the built-in tones. This offers a great way to personalize the keyboard with favorite sounds and unique local instruments.
 

Enhance Your Performances with Audio Pads

The XPS-10 panel features six Audio Pads for playing WAV, AIFF, and MP3 audio files. Load a USB memory stick with preferred tracks, loops, and effects, triggering them from the pads as needed. Set loop points for continuous playback and pre-organize files into groups of six for easy assignment. The Audio Pads can also play the XPS-10’s built-in rhythms, providing convenient backing for various purposes.

Sounds are categorized logically for swift selection, and you can assign your favorites to dedicated buttons for quick recall. Layering two sounds or splitting the keyboard for separate play, like bass with the left hand and piano or strings with the right, is simple. Sound Modify sliders offer instant access to crucial parameters such as cutoff, resonance, attack, and release, enabling you to shape your sound effortlessly. Sliders are also available for adjusting levels for layered and split sounds, reverb and chorus effects, and the Audio Pad section.
 

Customize the Keyboard with User Scales

The XPS-10 incorporates a User Scale function, enabling customization of the keyboard’s tuning according to your preferences. You can adjust each scale note individually in one-cent increments, offering precise control crucial for many ethnic music styles. When creating user scales, you can quickly set quarter-tone steps (+/- 50 cents) by holding a button while pressing the desired key. You can store up to nine different user scales for easy access during performances.
